Operations Director – Law Firm
Description
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Operations Director to join the Vacca Family Law Group in New York, NY. The ideal candidate will have experience in law firm operations and be passionate about developing and implementing operational strategies that help the firm grow while maximizing efficiency and efficacy. The successful candidate will be able to manage multiple projects, create efficient workflows, and develop policies and procedures while providing excellent customer service. Our Operations Director will be a leader within the organization who will work closely with clients and supervise a team of legal and support professionals. This role offers an excellent salary of $145,000 - $175,000 yearly, including a bonus.

Responsibilities
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Train staff regarding firm procedures and information systems
- Supervise and counsel the billing specialist, receptionist, and other support staff
- Recruit and assist in hiring new employees
- Conduct performance evaluations of non-attorney employees that are timely and constructive
- Handle discipline and termination of non-attorney employees as needed and in accordance with Firm policy
Other Responsibilities:
- Execute the Business Plan and meet the quarterly goals
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the office; prioritize the use of support staff and facilities
- Manage the daily operations of information systems
- Manage equipment, office services, and facilities
- Manage the firm’s billing and collections
- Oversee all employee benefits, such as health insurance enrollments and renewals, long and short-term disability, health savings accounts, 401(k), and profit-sharing options
- Maintain a professional and positive work environment by facilitating effective communication and information sharing among professionals, paraprofessionals, management, and support staff
- Work with the Firm’s accountant, bookkeeper, and fractional CFO as needed to prepare necessary reports
- Draft and implement operational and human resource policies and practices to ensure quality services
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Demonstrated record of success as a Director of Operations in a professional services firm between $6M and $15M
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Excellent ability to focus on details
- Excellent ability to organize and prioritize tasks, delegating when appropriate
- Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Extremely proficient with practice management software programs such as Clio
- Ability to maintain confidential records
- Extremely proficient at managing office technology systems
- MBA or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Management or related field and/or HR certification through SHRM or HCRI
